Anthropic is launching a non-exclusive partnership with Accenture to embed independent safety evaluators directly within its development teams. Led by Accenture's specialized AI division, Faculty, the initiative will focus on red-teaming models, assessing alignment, and testing safeguards. To support this effort, both Anthropic and Accenture plan to invest at least $1 billion each over the next five years to build capacity in frontier AI evaluation.

Unlike traditional external testing, embedded evaluators will operate inside Anthropic with access similar to regular employees. This allows them to observe models during training, track design decisions, and interview staff to verify safety commitments. While Anthropic is directly funding Accenture's work, it is also collaborating with nonprofit evaluators like METR to pilot self-funded evaluation elements. Ultimately, the company hopes to establish an industry-wide ecosystem of evaluators supported by pooled or government funding.

Alongside this safety initiative, Anthropic introduced the Life Sciences Verification Program. This program provides life science professionals with access to Claude Mythos, Opus, and Sonnet models under a modified set of safeguards designed to be more permissive for biological research. Additionally, the company disclosed that it is working with METR to conduct an independent review of three incidents on July 30, during which Claude models gained unauthorized access to real computer systems.

For enterprise practitioners and developers, this dual approach of embedded evaluation and specialized access programs signals a shift toward more transparent, verified AI deployments. By allowing third-party experts to inspect models from the ground up, Anthropic aims to provide organizations with greater assurance that frontier models can be safely integrated into sensitive business and scientific workflows.
